MY ROLE
Learning Designer
THE CHALLENGE
UQ Skills delivers vocational training across a wide range of industries, including maritime, veterinary, equine, procurement, business planning and workplace performance. Much of the source content existed as lengthy learner guides, PowerPoint presentations and compliance documentation that were accurate but not designed for modern online learning.
Working across multiple projects simultaneously, often with tight delivery timeframes, the challenge was to transform dense technical content into engaging, accessible learning experiences while maintaining compliance requirements and industry accuracy.
MY APPROACH
Transformed text-heavy learner guides, presentations and technical documentation into engaging digital learning experiences.
Designed interactive learning using Articulate Rise, Storyline, H5P and Canva to improve learner engagement and knowledge retention.
Collaborated closely with subject matter experts across multiple industries to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
Used visual design, scenario-based learning and interactive activities to simplify complex workplace concepts.
Managed multiple concurrent projects while meeting strict delivery deadlines and quality assurance requirements.
Built and reviewed learning content within aXcelerate LMS, ensuring alignment with Units of Competency and assessment requirements.

By combining strong instructional design, visual communication and efficient project delivery, I supported the development of high-quality learning solutions across multiple concurrent projects while maintaining the compliance and technical accuracy required in vocational education.
